after he was intercepted and forced to land while flying through a
presidential TFR in Florida on Saturday. As President Bush spoke to
a crowd at Space Coast Stadium near Viera (FL), Hargrove's Aeronca
Champ was intercepted by an F-16 patrolling the skies over the
president's rally. The problem lay in the fact that the F-16 is so
fast and the Aeronca is so slow. The F-16 pilot finally got
Hargrove's attention by firing flares. Hargrove landed at Merritt
Island Airport (FL), was questioned and eventually continued on to
his destination in Boca Raton (FL).
