Blue Origin’s New Shepard booster rocket successfully completed the program’s 34th mission to space, lifting a crew of six on a suborbital flight that was its 14th human spaceflight. The program has so far taken a total of 75 people on the brief flight above the Karman Line that many consider the edge of space.

Experimental Velocity XL Crashes into Alligator Territory

Pilot Uninjured After Crash-Landing in Florida’s C-54 Canal

A privately operated Velocity 173 RG-XL Elite kit aircraft made a forced landing in a known alligator-filled canal near Fellsmere, Florida, on Monday, August 4, 2025, following an apparent engine failure towards the end of its planned flight. The aircraft sustained substantial damage, but the pilot and sole occupant on board escaped without injury.

On July 15, 2025, at about 1440 Pacific daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Murphy Moose SR3500 airplane, N80TM, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Quinault, Washington.
