Pacific Aerospace Produces 100th P-750 Aircraft

Company Says It Is On Track To Produce The Next 100 Airplanes

New Zealand aircraft manufacturer Pacific Aerospace has produced the 100th copy of its P-750XSTOL airplane, which will likely be delivered to an Indian company following the Singapore Air Show.

Stuff.nz.com reports that Pacific Aerospace was expected to sign a letter of intent with the undisclosed buyer at the air show.

Pacific Aerospace chief executive Damian Camp said that the airplane is being flown in some of the world's harshest environments, including the highlands of Papua New Guinea, the Australian desert, the mountains of Nepal, and the steppes of Russia. It is capable of carrying just under 4,000 pounds in and out of extremely short airfields, and is often used as a skydiving airplane.

The company is also preparing for "significant" orders through a joint venture with the Beijing General Aviation Company, Camp said.

Airplanes for the Chinese market will be assembled in China, but Camp said that the P-750s for the rest of the world will continue to be built in Hamilton, NZ. He said that the company's 200th airplane is not too far in the future.
