Autel EVO, Nano Inbound to U.S.

Longer Range, Higher Endurance, Greater Resolution Working Drones On Shelves Soon

Soon to come to North American locales, Autel has announced its EVO Nano and Lite series of drones will be in customer hands in the near future.

The premium, workaday UAVs have improved on previous Autel fare where it counts, improving battery life to 40 minutes, while also improving the obstacle avoidance, video resolution, and transmission range to tackle even bigger projects.

The first shipment, according to Autel, has made its way into their hands and is undergoing final quality control checks before making its way to distributors. Both the Nano and Lite series offer a base level standard drone as well as a Plus version with added accouterments and more premium features. Each drone has benefitted from increased resolution, up to 6K on the Lite+ model, as well as transmission range just under 7 and a half miles. Improved visual sensors all around offer three-directional obstacle avoidance with enhanced software response. For those times when operators push the system just a bit too far, the bright safety orange or red colorways available will help find the wayward craft.

Autel's improvements also make their way to the user's software, with the improved Sky App.

Users can access portrait photography settings that simplify the process of sighting, focusing, and composing the shot to a single keypress. The Nano and Lite drones are all compatible with automatic target following, allowing users to forget about the trouble of photography so they can focus on doing whatever they want to record. Autel has paid particular attention to the "cinematic side", revealing a focus on courting the creator market. Their Sky app includes support for "Dynamic Track 2.1," a proprietary tech for "Master Subject Tracking." Autel says that users can "create dramatic, professional-level shots at the touch of a button" that offer dual recording tracks, capturing audio from the ground for voices and ambient sounds. The result is a simple process for voice overs or narration while obtaining high-angle drone shots, simplifying workflow and (hopefully) eliminating booth work.
