"These are temporary adjustments and they only affect our manufacturing operations. So our (other operations) will continue to operate normally and be staffed at the normal level. There will not be any change to existing or potential customers and we will deliver airplanes as scheduled."

Source: Dave Franson, spokesman for Mooney Aircraft Company. The Kerrville, TX-based planemaker announced Wednesday it has halted production in order to clear out existing inventory, and will lay off 229 workers immediately... the latest victim of the slumping economy.
