Uber And Flytrex Partner On Drone Delivery Service

Combining Autonomous Drones With Global Platform And Logistics

Uber Technologies and Flytrex announced their entry into a strategic partnership and the first investment in drone delivery made by Uber to signify a major step forward for autonomous logistics.

The new service will begin with pilot markets for Uber Eats in the U.S. by the end of 2025. It brings together Uber’s global platform and logistics expertise with Flytrex’s proven autonomous drone delivery system. In doing so, the two companies establish a fully integrated end-to-end experience designed for scale, speed, and safety.

Uber’s goal is to build the world’s most flexible multimodal network for deliveries as it grows beyond cars, bicycles, and couriers to include sidewalk robots and with this deal jumping into autonomous aerial delivery.

Flytrex is one of the only four drone delivery providers authorized for BVLOS or beyond visual line of sight operations. It brings technology and operational expertise to Uber that will allow consumers to receive orders in just minutes while simultaneously reducing congestion and emissions.

Uber is making its first-ever investment in drone technology to help Flytrex accelerate its development and deployment of drone delivery technology.

Sarfraz Maredia, President of Autonomous Mobility and Delivery at Uber said, “Autonomous technology is transforming mobility and delivery faster than ever before. With Flytrex, we’re entering the next chapter—bringing the speed and sustainability of drone delivery to the Uber Eats platform, at scale, for the first time. Together, we’ll reshape how food, convenience items, and other essentials move through cities.”

Noam Bardin, Executive Chairman of Flytrex commented, “The promise of autonomous vehicles is here, redefining logistics on the ground and in the air. Autonomous drones are the future of food delivery—fast, affordable, and hands-free. Flytrex has already delivered over 200,000 meals to suburban households in the past three years.

“Partnering with Uber—pioneers of ground-based mobility—brings together proven logistics expertise with aerial innovation. Together, we’re building the infrastructure for a future where autonomous systems seamlessly move goods through our communities, making faster, safer, and more sustainable delivery the new standard.”

Flytrex has completed more than 200,000 drone deliveries across the U.S. to date. Integrating the FAA-approved BVLOS operations with Uber’s immense network of restaurants, merchants, and consumers promises to unleash faster, safer, and more efficient last-mile logistics at scale.
