New Cadet Class Starts At Skyborne Academy

Will Complete Training In India Before Heading To IndiGo Airlines

Skyborne Airline Academy and IndiGo Airlines welcomed 19 new cadets to the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program in their recent Letter of Intent (LOI) ceremony. The cadets begin flight training at Skyborne’s Vero Beach Regional Airport (KVRB) in Florida. They will complete the conversion of their FAA certification in India and their type rating on the Airbus A320.

The IndiGo Cadets spend the first 12 months of their professional training earning their FAA Part 141 with instrument rating and the required multi-engine time. In India they spend about 6 months converting to the DCGA Flight License. This process has been updated to include the latest suite of ADAPT aptitude tests from Symbiotics.

Rina Basu, Skyborne Regional Director, APAC, said, “Following a rigorous selection process, I am excited for our new cadets to start their Skyborne training knowing they will go on to fly with India’s leading airline. We are proud to have been training cadets for IndiGo since 2019, and I am looking forward to supporting our newest cohort.”

Skyborne Airline Academy uses a combination of tried and tested methods as well as the latest technology to assess competence, suitability, aptitude, and resilience to recruit the best candidates. This approach minimizes additional training needed, reduces the failure rate, and overall provides airlines with better pilots and cabin crew.

Skyborne has close relationships with leading airlines and provides opportunities for trainees at British Airways’ Speedbird Pilot Academy, the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program, the Propel Flight Academy by Delta, and the SkyWest Professional Pilot Pathway.
