Aero-TV: iFly EFB Debuts Budget-Friendly Flight Planning Alternative

X7 Aviation Tablet is Brighter and More Reliable Than Competitors

The team at iFly EFB returned to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 2025 with its X7 Aviation Tablet: an iPad-like resource with all the features you could ask for in a streamlined, user-friendly, and affordable package.

The X7’s stand-out upgrade is the 2600-nit screen, making it readable even when facing directly East just after sunrise… a pain all pilots have felt. It comes pre-loaded with the most up-to-date iFly EFB app version, which contains VFR charts, navigation tools, airport diagrams, airspace alerts, weather overlays, and flight planning resources, as well as an IFR-equipped option.

“It looks the same in bright sunlight as it does in this hangar,” explained iFly EFB President Walter Boyd. “We have people taking it out all day long to look at it, and they just come back inside amazed, and then they’re writing that check.”

The tablet isn’t just built for the sun. It uses clean, responsive menus, large high-contrast buttons, and minimal touch interactions to make display changes simple in bumpy weather. The company also claims that the X7 can easily withstand extreme temperatures, daily wear, and long-hauls.

With a 7.5-hour battery life, flight-friendly build, and $599 price tag, the X7 is a practical option for those who want hardware and software to play nicely together in any cockpit.
