Reboost Puts ISS In Higher Orbit, Crew Prepares for Expedition 15

A docked Progress 23 cargo craft fired its engines Thursday night lifting the International Space Station to a higher orbit.

The 12 minute, 32 second burn readies the station for the upcoming docking of Expedition 15 in April. The reboost also puts the station in the correct trajectory for the landing of Expedition 14 several days after Expedition 15 arrives.

Expedition 14 crew members began preparing a pressurized mating adapter for its relocation to the Earth-facing side of the Unity node. The relocation is planned for Expedition 15. The crew is also preparing to enter the Soyuz TMA-9 spacecraft at the end of March and leave the station for almost 30 minutes to redock to a different port. The redocking leaves open a new port for Expedition 15 when it arrives aboard a Soyuz TMA-10.
