Seven Fatally Injured In Accident In Brazil

Former CEO Of Vale SA, Family Among Those On Board

A pilot and six passengers including the former CEO of Vale SA and his family were fatally injured Saturday when the Comp Air CA-9 airplane they were aboard went down in a suburb of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Among those fatally injured were 56-year-old Roger Agnelli, the former CEO of Vale, which is the world's largest producer of iron ore, according to Reuters. His wife Andreia and their two children, Anna Caronlina and Juao were also aboard the aircraft when it went down, according to a source who requested anonymity.

One person on the ground was also injured, according to the report.

Brazilian ANAC records indicate that the plane was owned by Agnelli. The list of passengers were not confirmed, but four senior sources in Brazil's financial industry told Reuters that they had knowledge of Agnelli and some relatives being on the plane.

The weather in Sao Paulo was reportedly clear at the time of the accident, which occurred at about 3:20 p.m. local time according to the report.
