Glass Cockpit Aviation Goes With Frasca

New Cirrus Simulators Will Feature Authentic Sights, Sounds

Students training at Glass Cockpit Aviation in Farmingdale, NY will soon have bragging rights to the first Cirrus Flight Training Device (FTD) to be built by simulator manufacturer Frasca.

GCA has ordered one of the new training sims, which will utilize digital sound and Frasca's TruVision 170-degree display system. The system will allow students to train in an environment featuring the realistic sights and sounds of Farmingdale's Republic Airport.

According to a Frasca press release, the FTD will also include Avidyne's Entegra PFD & MFD, a Garmin GMA340 Audio Panel, dual Garmin GNS430's, a Garmin GTX327 Transponder, and a S-TEC 55x Autopilot.

Frasca has previously built and delivered several custom devices for Diamond, Cessna, Beechcraft and Piper aircraft and delivered the first DA-40 and DA-42 devices with Garmin G1000. The company will have displays at next month's AOPA Expo, Nov. 3-5 in Tampa, FL, as well as Orlando's NBAA (Nov. 9-11) and I/ITSEC (Nov. 28-Dec. 1) shows.
