NBAA To Honor Louis Seno With 2016 John P. 'Jack' Doswell Award

Recognizes Outstanding Lifetime Achievement In Business Aviation

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced that Louis Seno, chairman emeritus of Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI), will receive the John P. “Jack” Doswell Award at the 2016 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), in Orlando, FL in November.

“Lou Seno’s lifelong contributions to general aviation are well worthy of our recognition,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “His many and diverse efforts on behalf of the industry reflect the legacy of the prestigious Doswell award.”

A founding shareholder of JSSI, Seno also served as the company’s president and CEO. He remains a special advisor to JSSI’s board of directors. Prior to JSSI, he held top management positions with the business aircraft units of Boeing Capital Corp. and GE Capital Solutions.

Seno has also provided more than 25 years of service to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), in various capacities, including as its vice president of corporate relations and government affairs, and also as a member of ERAU’s president’s advisory board and board of trustees. He has served on a host of the university’s committees, including as chair of ERAU’s development committee, and also a member of its finance, flight safety and student life committees. Seno established the Office of Corporate Relations and Government Affairs at the university, and has represented ERAU extensively on Capitol Hill. He was recently invited to serve on the industry advisory boards of ERAU’s College of Business, and College of Engineering.

Seno was recently elected to the board of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and is an active member of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. He has served terms on the board of Duncan Aviation, as co-chairman of the National Aircraft Resale Association, and as president of the National Aircraft Finance Association.

A charter member of NBAA’s Tax Committee, Seno also helped represent the business aircraft financing and leasing segment of the industry on NBAA’s Associate Member Advisory Council.

A 6,500-hour pilot with an airline transport pilot certificate and a Cessna CitationJet type rating, Seno currently owns and flies an F33A Beechcraft Bonanza, and an amphibious Aviat Husky A1-B. He was recently awarded the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award.

Established in 1987, NBAA’s Doswell Award recognizes lifelong individual achievement, and an exceptional record of volunteer service, on behalf of and in support of the aims, goals and objectives of business aviation. It is named for Jack Doswell, a renowned World War II combat veteran, business aircraft pilot and flight operations director who was actively involved in many NBAA committees and initiatives throughout the 1970s.
