AUVSI Announces Revamped Branding for 50th

As Autonomous Aircraft Industry Grows, the Association Polishes its Branding and Programs

The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International has announced a revamped, fresh image as it nears its 50th anniversary.

Earlier this year, AUVSI brought attention to itself with the change from "unmanned" to "uncrewed" as part of its equity program, "Autonomy for All". Along with the name change, the group's branding, logo, and style has been updated and improved, given its growing footprint in the wider market. While under the hood, it rebranded and reorganized its large events.

AUVSI Defense changed focus to center on a more Pentagon-centered approach, bridging the gap between those creating, building, and advancing the industry and government stakeholders to pay for it all. The Automated Goods Movement Summit will become the logistics-focused arm of AVUSI, looking to eliminate inefficiencies and expand the use of UAS throughout the freight ecosystem. The Uncrewed Systems & Robotics Database was also updated as a perk of AUVSI membership.

The introduction of the educational, accessible Aville also follows as part of the updates. Aville is a free online platform aimed at building the future of autonomy, offering "educational resources, forums, and job opportunities for students, industry professionals, and the general public." AUVSI describes the program as a "critical element of strategy to advocate for the safe adoption of autonomous technology," adding that beta access will be opened for attendees at XPONENTIAL 2022.

All things considered, it's hard to point to a busier year for the group. “As we reflected on several important milestones – including the celebration of our 50th anniversary and name change to adopt ‘uncrewed’ earlier this year – we felt it was important to visually signal to our community that we’re looking forward,” said Michael Wilbur, director of engagement for AUVSI. “The new design should feel familiar to our members and partners, while also presenting a fresh and approachable identity to newcomers to the industry and new stakeholders in the adoption of uncrewed systems and autonomy.”
