AirVenture to Display a Full Roster of Northern Aircraft
The Royal Canadian Air Force is celebrating its 100th anniversary at AirVenture Oshkosh 2024, bringing out the whole kit and kaboodle of the Canadian performing fleet.

That means they'll have the headlining Snowbirds, equipped with their CT-114 Tutors (a license built Cessna T-37 Tweet), riding along with their CF-18 Demo squadron and a rare appearance from their WWII bomber, the Avro Lancaster mark ten. It's a nice chance for fans of the neighbors up north to see their best work, since the teams are coming out in force for the Canadian Air Force centennial. A new livery will be displayed by one of their CF-188 Hornets across the US, UK, and Canada under 'Operation INSPIRATION 2024'. Those familiar with the Navy's F/A-18 Hornets will feel a bit of deja vu with the CF-18s in action, but both teams manage to turn in a distinctly different and characteristic routine every year.
“As more Canadian performers confirmed they are coming to Oshkosh, it gave us the opportunity to piece together some rare pairings for the air shows,” said Rick Larsen, EAA vice president of communities and member programming. “We are always looking for new ways to create ‘Only in Oshkosh’ moments to excite our attendees.”

AirVenture attendees can watch the Canadians perform during the afternoon air shows on July 26, 27, and 28. One of their native DeHavilland Twin Otters will be on hand to open the natural anthem by dropping the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Demonstration Team/SkyHawks. The Snowbirds will close the shows during each performance. A bigger display will take place with the CF-18 as a 'victory flight' with a few more Canadian aircraft. Their rare Lancaster will make an appearance in the July 27th night show, accompanying both flying B-29s at the show for a display of allied air power.
Tickets are still available, but camping spots are once again a hot commodity. With only a couple weeks to go, now's the time to grab a ticket!
