Developed To Reduce Fuel Consumption For Business Aviation Operators
Jeppesen recently introduced new features for its Jeppesen FlitePlan Online solution for business aviation operators. New Central Flow Management Unit (CFMU) validation and multiple scenario analysis functionality including recently cleared routes now provides operators with flexible, optimal routing options and higher flight plan filing acceptance rates.

This route optimization ability reduces overall fuel consumption and simplifies the overall flight planning process for operators. New capabilities for the Web-based flight planning solution also include runway performance analysis and optimized access to flight planning features through iPad, to provide greater flexibility for late changes entered on short notice. Jeppesen FlitePlan Online allows worldwide flight plans to be designed and filed in less than one minute and offers intelligent routing, weather and weight and balance capabilities based on an operator’s exact aircraft configuration. Frequently-used favorite route options are stored in the system, to save time with entering route information.
“Jeppesen FlitePlan Online continues to enhance the flight planning experience for business aviation operators by eliminating multiple-step data entry and providing flexible route planning and quick filing,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “Optimization of flight planning tasks reduces pilot workload to increase operational efficiency and allows pilots to focus on other flight preparation procedures.”
Jeppesen FlitePlan Online streamlines the flight planning process to enable increased fuel efficiency and reduced costs while enhancing situational awareness. Flight Plan Online features an intuitive graphical interface and ensures that critical values such as maximum takeoff weight are within acceptable limits and considers all aspects of weather and aircraft performance data, using proven models.
International routes are compliant with ERAD, ETOPS and overwater flight planning requirements, to further simplify the flight planning experience. Graphical current and forecast weather overlays are also available for increased situational awareness. When complete, the final flight plan package can be printed, emailed, faxed or uploaded directly to an operator’s flight management computer (FMC) for easy delivery and filing.
