Duncan Aviation Promotes New Airframe Manager

Battle Creek Facility Sees new Management to Oversee Projects

Duncan has announced the installation of longtime employee Shawn Andrews as the new Airframe Manager for their Battle Creek, Michigan location.

Andrews has been a part of the operation since 1995, being hired by Kal-Aero right before its sale to Duncan. His previous work at Yokota AFB had given him a base of expertise on the Hawker 800, working as a contract maintenance tech and onboard flight mechanic for the FAA and DoD. Once in Michigan, he moved up through the ranks, moving his way up with stints as second-shift supervisor, team leader, and assistant manager of the airframe department.

He says he's excited to take the reins and see what the department is capable of. “During my 18 years as a team leader in the Falcon program at Duncan Aviation, I’m quite proud of how our team handled the various challenges that came our way," he said, looking back on previous accomplishments. "We installed the first set of API Winglets on a Falcon, and we’ve undertaken numerous projects equally as challenging ever since.” His tenure at the company will see many more developments like those, as Duncan expands and further sharpens its edge in the STC, engineering, and certification market.

“I love the airframe department, and from the day I was hired in 1995 until today, I’ve never worked anywhere else,” says Andrews. “I’ve spent years building teams, building relationships, and learning the various airframes, and if I don’t know all of the answers, I know where to find them.”
