CMC Electronics' Mortreux Elected AIAC Chairman

Aerospace Industry Employs Over 79,000 Canadians

The board of directors of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) has elected Jean-Pierre Mortreux as its chairman for 2007-2008, following its annual general meeting on October 1, 2007.

Mortreux is president and CEO of CMC Electronics Inc. He succeeds Don Campbell, executive vice president of CAE Inc., who chaired the association in 2006-2007.

"I am indeed honored to serve as chairman of the AIAC and look forward to working closely with the association membership in the advancement of our industry's competitiveness and international reputation," said Mortreux.

The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada is the national trade association of Canada's aerospace manufacturing and service sector. The AIAC represents the interests of some 400 companies across Canada.

With annual revenues of $22 billion, Canada's aerospace industry is the largest outside the US and Europe, ranking 4th in output following the US, the UK and France.

The aerospace industry employs more than 79,000 Canadians.
