Pilatus Goes To South Africa

New Dealership To Sell PC-12s

Two former South African Air Force pilots have joined forces to sell the Swiss-built Pilatus PC-12 to customers in southern Africa.

Tim Webster, a career pilot in charter management and sales, and Gerry Wyss, who has worked extensively with Pilatus in Switzerland, have formed  the Pilatus PC-12 Centre Southern Africa.

The business will be  based at Rand Airport near Johannesburg, the capital city of South Africa.

“We are convinced that we have found a dynamic team that can drive our Pilatus business in Southern Africa,” says Fred Muggli, head of PC-12 Sales and Marketing at Pilatus. “There is great potential for the PC-12 in the region because its long range, spacious cabin, high speed, low operating economics, and outstanding reliability make it uniquely suited to the area.”

The Pilatus PC-12 has been the best selling turbine-powered business aircraft for the past three years and has delivered over 600 copies around the world.

The new partnership begins business on October 1.
