Peraton Pitches FAA For ATC Modernization Prime Integrator Role

With Fresh Perspective, Holistic Approach, And Mission-First Culture

Peraton announced its commitment to working with the FAA and is pursuing the role of Prime Integrator for the agency’s Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) project seeking to completely transform, update, and upgrade every aspect of the system to bring it into line with modern requirements.

The FAA initiative represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to truly transform national airspace operations to deliver enhanced safety and capability that Americans of all stripes – travelers, operators, and system personnel – can rely on to move people where they need to go.

Peraton maintains it is uniquely positioned to serve as the FAA’s Prime Integrator and will deliver a rapid transformation by bringing a holistic approach that does not have to rely on the performance of legacy suppliers or deal with bias in selecting technology options. And with Peraton Labs, formerly Bell Labs, it brings to bear hundreds of millions of dollars invested in its ability to apply the latest technologies, from AI to complex, secure communications to cyber and big data solutions.

The company is a pure-play systems integrator with extensive expertise in successfully delivering multiple high stakes missions at the federal level across agencies and enterprise IT solutions at scale. It has deep experience across defense, space, and civilian sectors and has led complex national programs.

Among other sophisticated projects, Peraton has managed near and deep space communications, telemetry and tracking, digital twin simulations, and cyber-resilient structures in support of the Departments of War and Homeland Security as well as NASA. It has operated dozens of ground stations around the world, deployed modular, TRACON-ready systems, and has a thorough track record of knowledge, innovation, and performance.

Steve Schorer, Peraton’s Chairman, President, and CEO said, “The FAA’s BNATCS initiative is not just about upgrading infrastructure - it’s ultimately about propelling America into the golden age of transportation. Our mission is to increase the efficiency and security of America’s skies, with safety as our guiding light.

“Peraton comes to the table with fresh thinking. Our scale, technical depth, and mission-first culture is well-suited to support this transformational effort, and we are ready to partner with the FAA, and Secretary Sean Duffy to rapidly deliver a safer, smarter air traffic system that meets the needs of today and anticipates tomorrow’s demands.”

Amy Rall, president of Peraton’s Citizen Security and Public Safety Sector emphasized the company’s approach, saying, “The company’s innovative culture, knowledge base, commitment to long-term success, and operational readiness align with the FAA’s vision for a modern, adaptive, and secure air traffic system designed to support economic growth, public safety, and national security. We know America doesn’t have time for red tape. We move fast, and we will keep safety front and center while pushing the schedule forward. We are excited to be a part of something so integral to our nation.”
