Airborne-Unmanned 07.08.20: FAA UAS Symposium, UAVOS UVH-170, Console Drone Sim

Also: DDC's Sparrow Drone, Altitude Angel, Korean Drone Show, Deuce Drone, Registration Renewal

It starts today... The annual FAA UAS Symposium, which is co-hosted by the FAA and AUVSI, brings together industry and safety professionals, technology experts and regulators to share safety information and updates among the UAS community.

Originally set for June 16 to 18 at the Baltimore Convention Center, the symposium will now be conducted as a two-part virtual event. Episode I of the event is scheduled for July 8 to 9 with a focus on UAS traffic management (UTM) and international UAS integration. UAVOS’ UVH-170 unmanned helicopter recently demonstrated its ability in mountainous operations by successfully conducting its first high altitude flight -- reaching a height of 16,400 feet. The rotary-wing UAS carried the Gyro-stabilized two-axis gimbal with integrated Radio data link. The payload weighed just under nine pounds. During the two-hour flight, the climb rate was over one meter per second from 13,120 feet to 16,400 feet. Via the new drone simulation game Liftoff: Drone Racing, players will be able to experience the excitement of fast-paced air races on PlayStation4 and Xbox One this year. The PC game Liftoff: FPV Drone Racing was first released in September 2018 as a successful drone simulation on Steam and continues to enjoy great popularity among enthusiasts of the drone racing sport. astragon Entertainment is cooperating with Belgian developer LuGus Studios in creating a drone racing game for PlayStation4 and Xbox One. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unmanned!!!
