Order Taken For 500th A330

Cathay Pacific Orders 15 Of The Wide-Body Airliners

Airbus’ A330-300 has surpassed the 500-order mark with Cathay Pacific Airways’ firm order last month for 15 additional A330-300s. The new airplanes will join the carrier’s existing A330 fleet for services across the Asia-Pacific region.

In the past three years alone, the aircraft has attracted 27 new customers. Cathay Pacific is Airbus’ largest A330 Family customer and operator to date, with 46 aircraft currently in use and another 21 to be delivered. Together with its Dragonair subsidiary, the company’s total bookings for A330-300 aircraft now stand at 54.

As a member of the popular A330 Family, the -300 benefits from demonstrated reliability, performance and unbeatable operating costs in service to over 250 airports worldwide, logging 15 million-plus flight hours and more than 3.6 million flight cycles.

In addition to Cathay Pacific, the jetliner’s largest operators include the Asia-Pacific region’s China Airlines, Korean Air and Thai Airways International; Delta Air Lines in the United States; and Germany’s Lufthansa.

The jetliner has a range of up to 5,450 nautical miles while carrying 300 passengers in a typical two-cabin arrangement.
