Thank AEA And NATA

Citing the Aircraft Electronics Association’s (AEA) January 3rd letter requesting an extended period for review and comment on their draft Repair Station training program, the FAA has complied. AEA, along with the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), had requested a 60-day extension by the FAA to review and comment on the draft AC 145-RSTM.

This long-awaited Advisory Circular defines the scope and description of the Part 145 Repair Station Training Manual. The new deadline for comments is March 22, 2005.

"The Association is extremely pleased with the FAA’s response to our request," said Ric Peri, AEA's vice president of government and industry affairs. "We also encourage the Association’s members to continue their review of the draft AC and to continue to submit their comments as soon as they are finished."

The Aircraft Electronics Association represents over 1,200 aviation businesses, including repair stations that specialize in maintenance, repair and installation of avionics and electronic systems in general aviation aircraft. AEA membership also includes instrument facilities, manufacturers of avionics equipment, instrument manufacturers, airframe manufacturers,test equipment manufacturers, major distributors, and educational institutions.
