One Of Three Teens Fatally Injured As A Result Of The Accident

The parents of Chinese teenager Ye Men Yuan have dropped their lawsuit against the city of San Francisco following an settlement announced Friday.

Ye was fatally injured when she was struck by emergency vehicles following the accident involving an Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 that landed short of the runway at KSFO, clipping a seawall and catching fire on the runway on July 6, 2013. Ye was one of three teenagers to be fatally injured as a result of the accident. 180 other passengers and crew survived the accident with varying levels of injuries.

While terms of the settlement were not disclosed, the Associated Press reports that the city's attorney said that no money was paid to the family to dismiss the suit.

The girl was laying on the tarmac covered in foam when she was struck by two emergency vehicles. The San Mateo County Coroner determined that those injuries caused her death, rather than those sustained when the plane impacted the seawall and went down.

The attorney for the girl's family would not disclose whether the parents had filed other lawsuits against Boeing or Asiana Airlines.
