MGL Avionics Offers LCD Upgrade For V6 Com Radio

Will Replace Screens With New High-Contrast Displays

For the last year, MGL Avionics says it has been shipping its popular V6 Com radio with a new 'negative' (white text on black background) LCD display. This display is brighter and higher-contrast than the previous green LCD display, and answers the call by some pilots for a radio that has an even wider viewing angle and a brighter display.

The company says that in just about all installations the older green screen was sufficient, but in sub-optimal installations (for example very open cockpits with the radio offset from the pilot) the new LCD is a "huge enhancement."

The company has established an upgrade path for our users to enjoy the latest enhancements, we now have an upgrade program for the V6 LCD display. "All you need to do is find a gap where you can be without your V6 Com for about a week, and send it in with the instructions.

The company says the upgrade will take 2-3 days once they receive the radio, and the cost is $149 plus shipping.

And be sure to include the form. The company says if they receive radios without the form, they will not be able to complete the upgrade.
