Announces Additional Order Slots Available for 70% Scale P-51

ScaleWings has announced that another batch of their P-51 recreation, the SW-51 Mustang, will make its way to customer hands around the world, after a pair of planes were sold to pilots in Switzerland and South Africa from the company's Polish home. 

The buyers took the opportunity to head to the factory in Krosno, Poland and see how the plane is made alongside design head Arek Walecki and a bevy of executives.

Their visit enabled them to select from a variety of pain scheme samples and livery options prepared by the team as they designed their dream Mustang. 

The SW-51 has made much headway in its development process over the last year, with operations at the factory scaling upwards to deliver even more of the modern but spiritually authentic plane.

ScaleWings has delivery slots available for the kit, as the most recent buyers can attest. The SW-51 is probably the most modern recreation of the original Mustang, being built in 70% scale using pure carbon fiber and utilizing full glass panel avionics.

Throughout the design process, ScaleWings was sure to retain as much of the original's hand-built charm and character, painstakingly rendering and replicating the myriad details in its surface, from rivets, textiles, covers, and more. 

The result grants pilots a good portion of the enjoyment of an original, at an affordable price point. Unlike the original's Merlin engine - now more museum piece than powerplant - the SW-51 uses the ubiquitous Rotax 915iS which, thanks to the light carbon construction, is still good for a climb rate of 2,200ft/min.

Quickbuild kits are available at a $138,000 starting price, with optional packages on tap for more deluxe furnishings.
