EAA Chapter 534 Hosts Mooney Aircraft Owners At Leesburg

Annual Fly-In Drew Mooney Pilots And Airplanes From All Over Florida

Mooney aircraft owners convened for a Fly-In lunch at the Experimental Aircraft Association hangar at the Leesburg International Airport in Leesburg, FL on January 12, 2019.

This is an annual event that brings general aviation Mooney aircraft from all over Florida. On this day ten of these aircraft graced the ramp near the EAA hangar. They came from as far away as Marco Island to the south and Flagler County to the north. Several other Mooney owners and their families chose to drive in.

The flying weather was perfect with cool temperatures, blue skies and very little wind.

The aircraft owners were greeted at lunch by EAA Chapter 534 Past President Jodie Soule’ and David Taisch of the Mooney Lunch Group. This group meets for lunch on Saturdays once a month at some airport in the Florida region. January has become the month that David brings his group to the Leesburg airport with the help of EAA chapter 534.

Chapter members served a BBQ lunch to more than 50 Mooney owners and EAA members. Old friends greeted each other and pilots told many hangar flying stories as they traded notes.

EAA Chapter 534 members were pleased to host the Mooney Lunch Group and look forward to next year’s Fly-In.
