99s Host Twenty Pennies-a-Pound Ride Event

The North Jersey Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is sponsoring its annual Pennies-a-Pound at Blairstown Airport on Saturday, October 1, 2005, starting at 10:00 a.m. Rain date is Sunday, October 2, 2005.

General aviation airplane rides will cost thirty cents a pound with a $15.00 minimum and a $50.00 maximum. Children under two years of age require a car seat to ride in a general aviation airplane. Prices for rides in antique or specialty aircraft will vary.

Introduce someone you love to the thrill of flying and see North Jersey from the sky. Proceeds from this event fund the North Jersey Chapter’s aviation scholarships, safety seminars, educational programs and air-markings.

Blairstown Airport is located at 36 Lambert Road in Blairstown. Contact The Runway Cafe at (908) 362-9170 for further information and weather date. This event will be held in conjunction with the grand opening of Blairstown Aviation.

Founded in 1929 with Amelia Earhart as its first president, the NINETY-NINES, INC. is a non-profit international organization of licensed women pilots from 35 countries. The 99s promote world fellowship through flight, provide networking and scholarship opportunities for women and aviation education in the community and preserve the unique history of women in aviation.
