NATA Honors Rocheleau With Public Service Award

FAA Deputy Admin Demonstrated Integrity, Character, Leadership

The National Air Transportation Association named Chris Rocheleau, the FAA Deputy Administrator, as the 2025 recipient of its Distinguished Public Service Award in recognition of his leadership, integrity, and character during a pivotal time for the aviation industry.

Rocheleau’s career is marked by his dedication to strengthening the nation’s airspace system through industry partnership, safety, and modernization. His continuing leadership as Deputy Administrator, as well as serving as Acting Administrator during the critical early part of 2025, has clearly demonstrated his steady-handed guidance in navigating difficult challenges.

During the entire period he prioritized safety as he maintained engagement with industry stakeholders and promoted collaboration to bolster both the aviation system and public trust.

Curt Castagna, President and CEO of NATA said, “Chris has not only provided steady leadership during one of the most trying times for aviation, but he has also shown a genuine care for the people and communities our industry serves.

“His deep knowledge of the industry and his ability to listen, bring people together, and keep safety at the forefront have earned the respect and trust of colleagues across government and industry. NATA is proud to honor Chris with this award in recognition of his dedication, character, and leadership.”

Deputy Administrator Rocheleau has been a longtime advocate for business and general aviation and has worked with industry to advance public policies that support operational safety, workforce development, and innovation. He had a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force and also served as COO of the NBAA (National Business Aviation Association).

NATA presents its Distinguished Public Service Award annually to individuals in government who, through their efforts and leadership, significantly contributed to the advancement of aviation and strengthened collaboration with the general aviation community.

Rocheleau will formally receive the award during the 2025 NATA Aviation Business Conference in Dallas, Texas, on November 18, 2025.
