NASA has returned the science instruments on the Hubble Space Telescope to operational status, and the collection of science data will now resume. This will be the first science data collected since the payload computer experienced a problem on June 13, which placed the instruments in a safe configuration and suspended science operations.

Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter Crew Responded

The Coast Guard successfully rescued three mariners 20 nautical miles off Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Friday evening. At 4:21 p.m., Coast Guard First District watchstanders received notification on 406 MHZ from an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon registered to the 42-foot sailing vessel Triad. The Coast Guard launched a Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Station Portsmouth Harbor. The helicopter crew arrived on scene and located the vessel with three people waving and clinging to its hull.

In 2017 the Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace purchased 17 PC-21s and has successfully trained its future military pilots since then. The Air Force has now ordered a further nine PC-21s to reinforce its training programme with additional Pilatus training aircraft. The French procurement authority, the Direction générale de l'armement (DGA), signed the agreement with F-AIR 21 (Cognac Formation Aero SAS France), with Pilatus acting as the exclusive subcontractor for the supply of the nine PC-21s and other groundbased training systems and spare parts. The order will secure jobs in Switzerland, where the PC-21s are produced.

S-3B Was Being Used Almost Daily As A Flight Research Aircraft

When the U.S. Navy retired its fleet of S-3B Vikings from active duty in 2009, not all of them were grounded. At NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, one S-3B was being used almost daily as a flight research aircraft. Acquired in 2004 and flown for the next 16 years on a variety of research missions, this S-3B Viking is about to fly off into the sunset and retire at the San Diego Air and Space Museum in California where it will be used to educate the public about its important role in the U.S. Navy and at NASA.

Metallic Shiny Debris Was Observed Trailing From The Airplane

On June 28, 2021, about 1030 Pacific daylight time, an experimental amateur-built, CCX-2000 airplane, N10TA, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Hood River, Oregon. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot, who was also the Director of Maintenance (DOM) for the company contracted to perform maintenance, reported that the airplane was retrofitted with an experimental exhaust system consisting of a titanium exhaust header and an aluminum muffler. The pilot stated that following the installation of the exhaust, an uneventful full engine power ground run was conducted.
