Turbo Boosted Fun On Land And Sea
While at the 2014 U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell talked with Adam Yang, the CEO of Progressive Aerodyne. The new light sport aircraft member of the Searey family is called the “Elite.” There’s an old saying that goes something like this, “You ain’t bragging if you can do it.” Well, when Progressive Aerodyne named their new Searey the “Elite,” they weren’t bragging.
This aircraft deserves that title.
With over 600 Searey aircraft flying around the world, this Elite version has stepped up in horsepower, construction methods, and interior appointments. The Elite is powered by the Rotax 914 turbocharged engine wrapped in an aerodynamic cowl. The use of carbon fiber makes the airframe lighter, and the interior is sumptuous.
If you’re a pilot that has dreamed about the possibilities for fun and exploration offered by an amphibious airplane, you need to watch this video. The Searey Elite is a great example of, “Made in America” at its very best.
