Embraer Goes Hunting for Crop Duster Business with Ipanema In Tow

Corn-Burnin' Air Tractor Competitor Continues Conquest of Brazilian Market

Embraer has announced plans to attend the 30th Agrishow in Ribeirão Preto with their “top-selling” cropduster, the Ipanema 203.

Embraer emphasized the Ipanema’s strong sales over the past 3 years, notching more than 180 sales among rural operators and active agribusinesses. The Ipanema cuts a more modern figure in a market beset by vintage, antiquated tech, allowing Embraer to offer a boost in efficiency and tech when shopping against older legacy sprayers. The Ipanema has the “equivalent efficiency of up to four ground sprayers operating at the same time,” Embraer says, which allows it to provide a high-quality aerosol application at more than 200 hectares per hour. That spray application should ultimately yield 15 bags more per hectare, when performed correctly. On top of all that, the Ipanema 203 is happy to run on ethanol, where available. That fuel freedom is a nice feature for those out in the boonies, and the Ipanema can happily guzzle down 100% ethanol in operation, and has done so for 20 years straight.

Sany Onofre, Embraer Agricultural Aviation Leader, said the Ipanema would be a perfect addition to the exhibition. "Agrishow, one of the largest agricultural fairs in the world and the largest agricultural fair in Brazil, is a great opportunity for producers looking for solutions that deliver higher productivity and lower costs for their crops. And in agricultural aviation, the ethanol-powered Ipanema 203 is a strong ally for these needs."

Agrishow is expected to bring in more than 195,000 attendees to see more than 800 different exhibitors.
