Aero-TV: TCM's Diesel Ambitions -- Ready To Power the Future

TCM Has Several Development Programs Looking To The Future of GA Propulsion

While aviation seems to have more than its share of trials and tribulations at the moment, it boasts one particularly solid resource... that there are great people and solid companies ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow. TCM's aero-diesel development program is one such example of what gives us great hope for the future of our industry... though we'll (no doubt) still have to deal with bumps and bruises along the way.

ANN cornered TCM's Head Honcho, Rhett Ross a few weeks ago and finally got him to fess up on some of the details surrounding this exciting and innovative research program. Ross and TCM have made a strong commitment to alternative fueled engines. It is this kind of activity and this kind of commitment on the part of a major powerplant manufacturer that makes the future of alternatively fueled powerplants a bright one... a damned bright one.

Aviation can only benefit as a result of the use of new technologies. Further; aviation has much to gain by having a choice of new and hopefully less expensive (but certainly more available) fuels -- and let's face it, aviation has been held hostage to 50 year old engine technology for 49.9 years too long.

The TCM Diesel, the TD300, is a four cylinder 230-250hp Diesel/Jet A fueled prototype engine with the potential to make its mark as a certified engine and start building market share in the 2011-2012 time period.

Join ANN's Jim Campbell as he weasels as much diesel info-goodness out of TCM's Ross as is possible...
