Oshkosh 2006 Website Ready For Action

Mark The Dates -- July 24-30, 2006, ANN Will Be There!

Although opening day is still nearly eight months away, the preparations have already started for the 54th annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration, coming July 24-30, 2006. The event, which draws more than 10,000 airplanes from around the world, has been held at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh since 1970.

The event's newly updated website is now available and contains the latest updates for the fly-in, which in 2005 drew an unmatched aircraft lineup that included SpaceShipOne/White Knight and the Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer. The EAA AirVenture website will highlight the latest news and aircraft confirmations, essential information such as admission rates and housing; and other important information to create an unforgettable visitor experience in 2006.

"We are already eagerly anticipating welcoming the world of flight back to Oshkosh in 2006," said Tom Poberezny, EAA president and AirVenture chairman. "EAA AirVenture is THE place where innovation and ingenuity are on prominent display; where government officials meet and hear their constituents; where aviation personalities tell their stories; and where all of aviation returns for its annual family reunion."

The schedule of events and confirmed lineup of aircraft will be announced as those items are finalized.

The EAA AirVenture web site again features easy-to-use menus to help people plan their participation at the event. Information is categorized under areas such as "Discover It," "Plan for It," "Experience It," and "Follow It." There are also added photo and video areas for people to enjoy the full range of activities at EAA AirVenture.

"People should plan to join us at Oshkosh this year, because there's no better place to experience the world of flight in one location," Poberezny said.

"Now is the time to begin planning a journey to EAA AirVenture. We promise you an experience unmatched anywhere else in aviation."
