The U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S Senate passed a measure to extend Federal Aviation Administration funding through March 31, 2016.

The “Airport and Airway Extension Act of 2015,” was passed on September 28 by a voice vote in the House, and the Senate approved the bill by unanimous consent the next day. The bill extends the FAA’s authorization, which was set to expire today, and allows the agency to continue operating for six months. The Gary Jet Center, a tenant at the Gary/Chicago International Airport, has apparently taken the attitude that, ‘A deal is a deal.’ They have filed a lawsuit against the airport authority and its private operator over a rent dispute. The FBO claims that the airport authority quadrupled its rent unilaterally, and the lawsuit seeks a permanent injunction against the authority's attempt to impose a 1.5 percent fee on tenant's gross revenues. The NTSB forum titled, ‘Humans and Hardware: Preventing General Aviation Inflight Loss of Control’ to be held in Washington DC on October 14th is ready to go. In addition to the forum itself, the NTSB is inviting pilots and others in the aviation safety community to send their questions related to inflight loss of control issues to LOCForum@ntsb.gov. To be considered for inclusion, questions must be submitted via email not later than 3:00 pm eastern time on October 13. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
