University Of Alaska Southeast UAS Scholarship Deadline Approaching

More Than 50 UAS-Specific Scholarships Available From The University

Students planning to attend the University of Alaska Southeast in its UAS program have until February 15th to apply for scholarships.

The financial aid is available to students who will attend a UAS campus in  Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka or enroll in an online program, according to a university news release. There are more than 50 scholarships available for such students.

The Juneau Empire newspaper reports that the new offerings include the Verna Carrigan Promise Scholarship, which is open to high school seniors attending southeast Alaska high schools or who are homeschooled. The scholarship is a one-time $3,000 award, and is geared towards students who have overcome significant challenges in their life and education.

Also new this year is the Southeast conference Scholarship for UAS students who "demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential" and carry a 3.0 GPA or higher.
