AD: Honda Aircraft Company LLC

AD NUMBER: 2018-06-10

PRODUCT: Certain Honda Aircraft Company LLC Model HA-420 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule; request for comments

SUMMARY:   This AD requires incorporating a temporary revision into the airplane flight manual and replacing faulty power brake valves upon condition. This AD was prompted by reports of unannunciated asymmetric braking during ground operations and landing deceleration.

DATES: This AD is effective April 13, 2018. Comments must be received by May 14, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates this AD affects 72 airplanes of U.S. registry. The cost of compliance is estimated as follows:
Insert temporary revision into the airplane flight manual: 1 work-hour × $85 per hour = $85
Replace the power brake
valve (if necessary):  20 work-hours × $85 per hour = $1,700. Parts: $21,878. Total estimated cost per airplane: $23,578.
