Beechcraft Introduces The 'Hello Kitty' T-34 Mentor

Pentagon Commissions The Model In Hopes Of Attracting Younger Female Aviators

ANN April 1 Special Coverage

Beechcraft today announced that it would be re-releasing the T-34 on the 65th anniversary of the first flight with a special edition "Hello Kitty" model, the T-34HK. "We wanted to appeal to the younger, female aviators", said Beechcraft spokesman Stan Down. "Our market research shows that younger female flyers prefer an airplane with a softer side."

The T-34HK will certainly appeal to the female aviators. In addition to the custom pink camouflage paint scheme, the T-34HK features crushed velvet seats with extra padding for more comfortable long flights. The drop tanks on the T-34HK are actually additional baggage compartments to augment the fuselage baggage compartment in the T-34A and B models.

Additional options available are a smoke system that delivers pink smoke that smells like perfume, GPS system with Fabio's voice and cabin air conditioning. Gold trim packages and burl walnut dashboard are also available. The T-34HK will begin deliveries in December, 2013, the 65th anniversary of the first flight of the T-34.
