Jazz Aviation Pathways Program Announces Scholarship Awards

Top Aviation Flight Management Student Pilots At Confederation College Receive Education Assistance

Jazz Aviation LP has announced a further commitment to Canada's future professional pilots with an agreement between the airline's Jazz Aviation Pathways Program ("Jazz APP") and Confederation College's ("Confederation") Aviation Flight Management program.

"The purpose of the Jazz APP is to support the future of the pilot profession in Canada and we're pleased to have Confederation College as part of the Jazz APP family," said Steve Linthwaite, Vice President, Flight Operations, Jazz. "We're proud to support two of Confederation's top students with scholarships that reward their commitment to safety and professionalism."

Jazz and Confederation have been working together since 2007 to promote safety and professionalism among students in the Aviation Flight Management program. Jazz is pleased to award the inaugural Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and the Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and Diversity to Confederation's most-deserving Aviation Flight Management students.

The Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism. Awarded to a full-time student in his or her final year of the Aviation Flight Management program for outstanding contributions to safety, leadership and professionalism. The Award consists of a $3000 scholarship and the recipient will be selected by the Confederation program chair or designate in consultation with Jazz to ensure the criteria as outlined are respected. On April 22, 2016, Jazz awarded the inaugural Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism at Confederation College to Patrick Dobie from London, ON.

The Award consists of a $3000 scholarship and the recipient will be selected by the Confederation program chair or designate in consultation with Jazz to ensure the criteria as outlined are respected. On April 22, 2016, Jazz awarded the inaugural Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and Diversity at Confederation College to Zoey Williams from Inglewood, ON.

"We are grateful for Jazz's support through its Aviation Pathways Program," said Paul de Oude, Chair of the School of Aviation at Confederation College. "This commitment to flight education contributes to the success of our students. We offer our congratulations to Patrick and Zoey who are great examples of dedicated students who we know will have an important impact on the future of aviation."

Since 2007 Jazz has been actively involved in shaping the curriculum and training of Canada's future professional pilots through active engagement with aviation colleges and universities.
