It's All Coming Together For Company And Airplane

Charlotte, NC-based Goodrich Corporation has been selected by Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems to supply an integrated fuel injection system, consisting of fuel atomizers and flexible manifolds, for the APS5000 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) to be used onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

According to Bob Yancey, President of Goodrich's Turbine Fuel Technologies division, "This award is a great example of the breadth and depth of our fuel systems offerings for all sizes and classes of airframes and rotorcraft. We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue teaming with Hamilton Sundstrand and to add to the overall Goodrich presence onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner."

Goodrich's Turbine Fuel Technologies team is a leader in the design, development and manufacturing of fuel system components and integrated systems for aerospace and industrial gas turbine applications. Its portfolio of products is spread throughout the gas turbine industry with applications that range from: business and regional jets; helicopters; large commercial aircraft; military aircraft; ships; tanks; and industrial power generators.

This contract adds to Goodrich's extensive presence onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Boeing has awarded Goodrich contracts for: the entire cargo handling system; wheels and electric braking system; exterior lighting; nacelles and thrust reversers; proximity sensing system; the fuel quantity indicating system; and the fuel management software. In addition, Goodrich has been selected by Rolls-Royce to provide the engine control system and sensor suite for the Trent 1000 engine, an engine option for the 787.
