Will NBAA-BACE 2020 Actually Happen?

Increase In Florida COVID-19 Infection Rate Has Many NBAA-BACE Fans Nervous

The last few weeks has been littered with the bones of aviation events that could not survive the threats of the COVID-19 pandemic... from the mighty Miramar Air Show to the Reno Air Races, the fears have wiped out over 100 aviation events and costs the airshow and tradeshow business hundreds of millions of dollars... and the damage is not over yet.

One of the biggest questions remaining for 2020 is whether NBAA's 2020 BACE BizAv convention can take place... especially with Florida infection rates starting to peak once again.

We reached out to NBAA to get their latest thoughts on the potential for NBAA-BACE 2020...

"NBAA continues to prepare for the 2020 NBAA-BACE with hundreds of exhibiting companies having confirmed with NBAA their plans for participation in this year's event.

As we make preparations for the show, our overriding focus - as with all NBAA events - is on the health and safety of all participants. That means we are in regular contact with relevant authorities in medicine and government, as well as leaders at Orlando Executive Airport, the Orange County Convention Center and Visit Orlando, among others. We have also partnered with CrowdRx, a leading provider of physician-led event services, for expert guidance on maintaining safety at NBAA-BACE.

We continue working with these and other parties, and monitoring the overall situation related to COVID-19 from several vantage points, as we formulate plans specific to the convention. We intend to come forward with an update in early July; at that time, we also intend to have detailed answers to address specific logistical and other questions about the event."
