New Learjet 60 XR 'Rockets into Service' in Flexjet Fleet

Flexjet Scheduled To Take Delivery Of Approximately 22 Learjet 60 XR Aircraft Over Five Years

Bombardier's Flexjet has taken delivery of its first Learjet 60 XR midsize business jet – the first of three entering service in the Flexjet fleet now, according to Michael McQuay, president of Bombardier’s Flexjet. Flexjet is scheduled to induct approximately 22 Learjet 60 XR aircraft into the Flexjet fractional fleet over the next five years. The Learjet 60 XR aircraft is the latest business jet from Bombardier Aerospace.

The new Learjet 60 XR reportedly model improves on the powerful, proven Learjet 60 platform, and is expected to offer the lowest operating cost in the mid-size category, with superior fuel efficiency. The Learjet 60 XR offers a wide array of new enhancements, including state-of-the-art avionics, a reconfigured cabin and new passenger amenities. It has been a popular aircraft in the Flexjet fractional fleet and the company is already seeing an enthusiastic market response to the new Learjet 60 XR.

“Combined with our emphasis on service excellence, it is our exclusive Bombardier aircraft that continue to distinguish Flexjet and drive new owners to the Flexjet program,” said Mr. McQuay.

“New Learjet and Challenger aircraft added to our fleet in the last three years – including the Learjet 40 XR and Challenger 300 – have clearly contributed to our positive sales performance over that time,” said Mr. McQuay. “We have every expectation for similar success with the new Learjet 60 XR, evidenced by the fact that shares in the first three aircraft are completely sold out.”

The stand-up cabin of the seven-passenger Learjet 60 XR offers a new seating configuration that makes the most of a cabin almost six feet wide, including a new three-seat divan. Redesigned for both comfort and functionality, the Learjet 60 XR cabin has a wide aisle, seats with greater legroom and generous head and shoulder room, and LED lighting throughout the cabin. The new interior includes restyled cabinets and galley and additional cabin storage space, along with new cabin electronics including ports for laptops and DVD and MP3 players.

The Learjet 60 XR also features an all-new flight deck with advanced electronics, including all-digital Collins Pro Line 21 avionics, which boosts situational awareness, with better system integration and positioning of critical flight information.

Flexjet offers a turnkey program allowing individuals or companies to purchase a share in a Bombardier business jet at a fraction of the full ownership cost. Flexjet owners select the aircraft type that best fits their needs, determine the number of hours per year they expect to fly, and purchase shares starting at 1/16th (equal to 50 hours of flying). Owners pay monthly management and usage fees, while Flexjet manages aircraft maintenance, flight crews, hangars, fuel and insurance on their behalf. Flexjet fields a family of Bombardier business jets that includes the Learjet 40 XR, Learjet 45 XR, Learjet 60 XR, Challenger 300 and Challenger 604 business jets.
