North Texas Regional's New FBO Terminal is Open for Business

Rise Aviation Bolsters Profile of Grayson County's General Aviation Scene with Addition to Airport Environment

Rise Aviation of Sherman, Texas opened its new FBO terminal earlier this month, capping off the 1st of 3 phases in their expansion plans at North Texas Regional Airport.

The multimillion-dollar facility, located east of the airport's main 8,000 foot main runway (17 left/ 35 right) is open to the flying public, conveniently located midfield adjacent to 25 acres of ramp space. The new facility includes multiple seating zones and amenities for pilots and passengers alike, allowing Rise to cater to arrivals no matter their mission.

The new 10,720 square foot terminal features a large passenger lobby, a 12-seat audiovisual conference room, pilot lounge, "quiet room" (i.e. a nap-worthy hideaway), flight planning area, and a cluster of rental space for aviation-related businesses. Overall, there's 1,750 sq ft up for grabs in the terminal, with Rise allowing the use of an 850 sq ft ground-floor office suite to house Grayson County's administrative airport staff. The new addition means that Rise Aviation operates 5 facilities at North Texas Regional, with 32,400 sq ft of office and shop space, with 67,000 sq ft of hangar space to house anything up to the newest ultra-long-range jets.

Grayson County Regional Mobility chairman, Robert Brady, said that the new development is a definite draw to the local area. “Private investments like this serve an incredibly significant role in the overall economic development mission of Grayson County and North Texas Regional Airport. This new FBO terminal enhances the status and stature of North Texas Regional Airport, and allows us to attract additional activity and users to Grayson County.”

Mike Livezey, Rise Aviation GM said the new facilities are sorely needed given the impressive amount of growth the region has seen. “This new FBO terminal has been needed for a long time. With growth in the DFW Metroplex continuing to move rapidly north toward Grayson County, many business owners or investors considering expanding, relocating or starting a new venture in Grayson County will arrive at North Texas Regional Airport in a business aircraft."

Livezey described the terminal as "an attractive and welcoming ‘Front Door’", adding that it's "customers’ first visual cue [that] Grayson County’s elected and business leaders are proactive with planning, investing and building infrastructure necessary to accommodate any growth they are considering.”
