Galvin Flight School Introduces First DA-42 Sim W/ G1000 Panel

Frasca Sim Features TruVision System

Earlier this week, Galvin Flying Services, Inc announced the purchase of the nation's first flight training device incorporating the Garmin G1000 integrated avionics suite and the Diamond DA42 TwinStar technologically advanced aircraft.

The new simulator comes from Frasca International, and features a 170-degree projected visual display with TruVision -- Frasca's family of high resolution textured visual systems and display configurations. TruVision provides the pilot with a realistic out-the-window scene of the airport and its surrounding environment. Custom databases and satellite technology provide extremely realistic scenery and authentic terrain.

Galvin representatives tell Aero-News the new sim -- located at Galvin's flight school at Seattle's Boeing Field -- will provide a seamless transition from the school's industry-leading scenario-based ground school course to the cockpits of G-1000-equipped airplanes including the Diamond DA-42 and DA-40, Cessna 172 and Columbia 400 -- all of which feature the G1000 display, or have it as an available option.

Galvin Flying Services flight school is also proud to offer the most NAFI Master Instructors of any flight training facility in the United States. Galvin has factory trained instructors for G1000 Columbia, Diamond, and Beech, as well as having G1000 current instructors available for Mooney and Cessna products.

Started in 1930, Galvin Flying Services, Inc. is the oldest flight training organization in the Pacific Northwest.
