Robert Stangarone Appointed to Corporate Angel Network

Nonprofit Updates Leadership to Ring in 2024

The Corporate Angel Network, a nonprofit organization that provides cancer patients free transportation on corporate aircraft to travel to specialized medical facilities, has installed Robert Robert Stangarone as its President and CEO.

The Network has allowed operators and patients to match up for more than 68,000 flights since its 1981 founding. The new leadership was reportedly driven by Stangarone's resume in aviation already, bringing experience as a corporate exec, journo, and pilot. In his past roles, he has held senior management authority at United Technologies’ Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky units, Rolls-Royce, Litton, Fairchild Dornier, Cessna Aircraft and Embraer. He's not all business aviation, however. Stangarone is also a CFI with aerobatic, multi-engine, and instrument ratings. He even holds a type rating for the Cessna Citation CJ series.

Chairman Jean Rosanvallon went so far to describe him as "the ideal leader to steer CAN to even greater heights.”

“Corporate Angel Network is a quintessential illustration of how the business aviation community contributes to our quality of life and helps save lives,” said Stangarone. “The program offers companies with corporate jets the ability to couple business activities with corporate social responsibility, while reducing cancer patients’ physical, emotional and financial stress as they go through the most difficult of times,” he said.
