Boeing’s August Commercial Deliveries Best Since 2018

Narrows Gap As Airbus Records Just Four More

Boeing announced it delivered 57 commercial aircraft in August 2025 to record its best August since 2018 and trailed its European competitor Airbus by just four deliveries for the month, tightening the gap from 19 fewer deliveries in July.

According to its own orders and deliveries report, in August Boeing delivered mostly 737 MAX aircraft, along with 777F, 787-9, 787-10, 767-2C, and 737-700 models.

As most readers are aware, the number of Boeing deliveries is still being affected by issues with production as well as the cap placed on the number per month permitted by the FAA, which stands now at 38 of the 737 MAX. The production cap has been in effect since early 2024.

The FAA just recently commented that no decision has yet been made to raise the cap limit. However, Administrator Bryan Bedford said that scenario-based tabletop exercises between the agency and Boeing are still being conducted to continually evaluate risk factors before any adjustment to the cap will be made.

Airbus said it delivered those 61 aircraft to 39 customers in August, including seven widebody and 54 narrowbody models. The manufacturer fell short of its estimated its monthly production target of 67 aircraft.

Boeing continues to receive orders, recording a total of 26 new orders including 14 777X, five 787-9 and 737 MAX, and two 787-10. The company has a backlog of 6,539 units, consisting of mostly 737 models.
