Flight Safety’s Drone Training For Dronamics

Flight Safety International To Train Dronamics Pilots

Flight Safety International (FSI) has signed an agreement with Dronamics to develop and deliver training for Dronamics pilots, and at a later time, a similar package for dispatch and maintenance personnel.

FSI is renowned for its professional pilot training for pilots, technicians, and other aviation professionals in the commercial government, and defense sectors as well as a provider of flight simulators and visual systems. As such, Dronamics hopes to leverage FSl’s expertise as a developer and provider of professional training programs for the uncrewed cargo airline. Think of a Cessna 172-sized aircraft, but with 1.5x the standard wingspan or, if you’re more familiar, the wingspan of a Pilatus PC-12!

Dronamics’ BlackSwan UAV is a low-wing aircraft, approximately 26ft long, with a wingspan of 53ft, range of 1,550miles, cruise speed of 125mph, and capable of carrying a payload of 770lbs! Apparently, it can land on short unpaved surfaces, and Dronamics hopes to provide point-to-point same-day delivery to even the most remote places. They see their core technologies for the delivery network consisting of three parts: 1) standardized low-cost ‘droneports’, 2) standardized low-cost drones and, 3) an automated flight control system.

FSI has a veritable fleet of advanced full-flight simulators (FFS) in the USA, Canada, France, and the UK, and this deal certainly has the potential to become a long-term arrangement. As echoed by Mr. Nate Speiser, Executive VP of Sales & Marketing at FSI “we’re well known in the market for our long-standing OEM relationships.”
