Sleeping Teen Forgotten On Air Malta Flight

Woke Up Where She Started

No one thought anything about it when a 17-year-old girl flying from Malta to Sofia, Bulgaria, fell asleep on the plane. I mean, who among us hasn't fallen asleep on a long flight, lulled by the quiet roar of jet engines and the wind as it whistles around the airframe?

But this young woman must've been VERY tired.

She slept right through the plane's landing in Sofia... she continued to saw logs as passengers left the Air Malta plane... remained asleep as passengers boarded the plane... and didn't stir once as the plane took off again, headed back to Malta.

Imagine Mom and Dad's surprise when all they got of their daughter in Sofia was her suitcase. And imagine our sleepy young traveler's surprise when she woke up... back in Malta?

Now, imagine the dressing down security officers got for failing to sweep the plane in Sofia?

While security officers were no doubt chastised for their oversight, the girl -- identified by the BNT news service as Mariana -- had to purchase a second ticket to hed back to Sofia.
