ERAU Plans National Aircraft Training Symposium

Will Focus On Flight Training Opportunities

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University representatives tell Aero-News that ERAU will convene the 2006 National Training Aircraft Symposium March 22-24 on its Daytona Beach campus. The meeting will spotlight exciting new opportunities for universities and airport fixed-base operations that provide pilot education and training.

Four broad topics are on the agenda:

  • New training equipment
  • The impact of very-light jets, on-demand air taxi services, and sport aircraft
  • The business of aviation training
  • New training methods for technically advanced aircraft

The symposium will bring together the customers and suppliers of training airplanes, avionics, simulators, and support equipment to review the latest tools and define modifications that suit training providers.

"We are motivated to provide excellence and affordable education to a changing population of aviation students," said Tim Brady, dean of the university’s College of Aviation, which is hosting the event. "This symposium will offer the opportunity to address issues involving the transition from current training practice to the future in ways that are unique to each provider."

The symposium will culminate in a bazaar where major suppliers of new and retrofit equipment and potential customers can discuss issues and solutions.
