Panel Will Gather July 17 In California
The FAA has posted a notice for its next Drone Advisory Committee (DAC) meeting to be held July 17 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
The FAA's Drone Advisory Committee (DAC) (PDF) is a broad-based, long-term Federal advisory committee that provides the FAA with advice on key UAS integration issues by helping to identify challenges and prioritize improvements. The committee helps to create broad support for an overall integration strategy and vision. Membership (PDF) is comprised of CEO/COO-level executives from a cross-section of stakeholders representing the wide variety of UAS interests, including industry, research and academia, retail, and technology.
The objective of the DAC is to provide independent advice and recommendations to the FAA and to respond to specific taskings received directly from the FAA. The advice, recommendations. and taskings relate to improving the efficiency and safety of integrating Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System. In response to FAA requests, the DAC may provide the FAA with information that may be used for tactical and strategic planning purposes.
Attendance is open to the interested public. Registration is required and space is limited. With the approval of the chairman, members of the public may present oral statements at the meeting.
