Say It Ain't So! Van’s To Retire RV-3, RV-4, RV-6 Kits

Orders Decline, Making Room For Streamlining, New Designs

Van’s Aircraft has announced that after decades of producing the RV-3, RV-4, and RV-6 models for the community of aircraft builders, and as orders have declined, the company is preparing to retire the models from active kit production.

The models represent the earliest eras of Van’s Aircraft and formed the foundation of its Total Performance philosophy of aircraft design, kit production, and builder support. With the decline in orders, the company is focusing on streamlining its operations and bringing new designs into production. Hence, the decision to end the active production of these models.

The last day to order kits for the RV-3, RV-4, and RV-6 will be September 30, 2025.

After that date, empennage, fuselage, wing, and finish kits for those aircraft will no longer be manufactured.

To order a new RV-3, RV-4, or RV-6 kit, or to order kit portions for an ongoing project, the builder should give them a call or send an email:

Factory office hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Pacific Time

Phone:  503-678-6545

Emails:

  • General info:  info@vansaircraft.com
  • Parts, other orders:  orders@vansaircraft.com
  • Kit Orders:  kits@vansaircraft.com
